This Week at CIA: Nov 15-21

Come to The Cleveland Institute of Art this week for a schedule packed with artist talks and gallery tours.

Enjoy free, public events this week at The Cleveland Institute of Art, including an artist’s talk with printmaking visiting artist Suzanne Chouteau on Thursday.

Artist’s Talk with Bickford Visiting Artist Jim Campbell
Tuesday, Nov 16, 7pm (Aitken Auditorium)
Internationally known as an artist working at the edge of electronic media, Jim Campbell is a former Silicon Valley engineer turned artist who works with LED lighting and pixelation.

Anatomica Aesthetica Gallery Talk
Wednesday, Nov 17, 12:30pm (Reinberger Galleries)
Bruce Checefsky, Director, Reinberger Galleries, will discuss "Photography and Pathology" in conjunction with Anatomica Aesthetica. Meet near the entrance to the Reinberger Galleries.

Artist’s Talk with Printmaking Visiting Artist Suzanne Chouteau
Thursday, Nov 18, 7pm (Ohio Bell Auditorium)
Suzanne Michele Chouteau is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Art at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio teaching courses in printmaking, drawing, illustration, and art history.

Anatomica Aesthetica Gallery Tour
Friday, Nov 12, 12pm (Reinberger Galleries)
Co-curator Maggie Pierce, a senior in CIA’s Biomedical Art program, will give a free tour of Anatomica Aesthetica. Meet near the entrance to the Reinberger Galleries.

Lunch on Friday: Alumni Artist’s Talk with Kidist Getachew ’03
Friday, Nov 19, 12:15pm (Ohio Bell Auditorium)
A grad of CIA’s T.I.M.E.-Digital Arts program, Getachew makes work that exploits the full potential of digital as media. Born and raised in Ethiopia, she has lived in the United States since 1982. This has given her a cosmopolitan vision which has poetically and elegantly informed her work.
