Anatomica Aesthetica Curator’s Talk and Book Signing
Wednesday, Dec 15, 12:30–1:15pm (Reinberger Galleries)
During this final week of CIA’s major exhibition Anatomica Aesthetica, come hear an informal gallery talk from curator James M. Edmonson, Chief Curator, Dittrick Medical History Center and Museum, College of Arts and Sciences, Case Western Reserve University along with co-curator Maggie Pierce, senior in the Biomedical Art program at The Cleveland Institute of Art. The talk is followed by a book signing for Dissection: Photographs of a Rite of Passage in American Medicine, co-authored by John Harley Warner and James M. Edmonson.

Parade, France/Sweden, 1974, Jacques Tati
From the Cinematheque’s Tativille series
Fri Dec 17, 5:30pm (Cinematheque)
Sat Dec 18, 6:55pm (Cinematheque)
Undistributed on film in the U.S. (the European print we will show is in the country only temporarily), Jacques Tati’s final film (made for TV) is his least shown and least known. It’s a gentle comedy set in a small circus, where Tati acts as host and introduces a series of acts. Parade is funny, wonderful, and in the end, quite moving. Details here.

Room in Rome (Habitación in Roma), Spain, 2010, Julio Medem
Fri Dec 17, 7:15pm (Cinematheque)
Sat Dec 18, 8:40pm (Cinematheque)
The new film from the director of Sex and Lucia and Lovers of the Arctic Circle is a sensuous, soulful tale of two young women who meet and embark on a singular journey—both physical and spiritual—in a hotel room in the middle of Rome. No one under 18 admitted! Details here.
