Come downtown September 24–26 for IngenuityFest, Cleveland’s annual celebration of art and technology. This year for the first time, admission is free! And the festival has moved to the lower level of Veterans Memorial (Detroit-Superior) Bridge.

The festival’s signature art installation for 2010 will be created by a group of four artists, including two who earned a master’s degree from CIA: Kidist Getachew ’07 (BFA ’03) (faculty, Foundation) and Michael Lehto ’07 (faculty, Communication Design). The installation, called the Lifeline Waterfall, is a 60-foot-long waterfall dropping from the traffic level of the bridge over 130 feet into the Cuyahoga River.

For the second year in a row, T.I.M.E.-Digital Arts Professor Kasumi will present multimedia video art at IngenuityFest. This year the looping video-art installation “Panoptical Delusions” (pictured above) will play on a 30-foot-wide arched canvas stretched across the bridge's beams. Stop by from 5pm to 1am on Friday, noon to 1am Saturday, or noon to 5pm Sunday.

If you’re in the mood for something completely different, don’t miss a brutal battle under the bridge by Chapped / Chaffed Wrestling. Come to the Grog Shop / B side Stage – West Bridge at 11pm Friday or 11:30pm Saturday for two nights of adrenaline-powered wrestling entertainment. Chapped and Chaffed are painting major Brandon Miller and drawing major Alex Katris.
