Every aspect of the Cleveland Institute of Art is dedicated to providing a climate that produces creative excellence. Faculty, staff and administrators are all chosen for abilities which uniquely equip them to produce this remarkable environment of creative production. At every level, professionalism is cultivated and prized. Situated into this, and often acting as bridges between the various aspects of the Institute, is a remarkable, and often unsung, set of professionals who serve as technical specialists. Technical specialists are experts in the ways of making associated with their disciplines. Yet this description only suggests part of what they do. Working directly with faculty, students and staff, they problem solve to bring to fruition creative visions that might otherwise go unrealized. They troubleshoot the logistics of making, they brainstorm and support, and help locate that rare hard-to-find material. In all these ways and countless others, technical specialists are there providing the expertise to make the imagined real.

Creative professionals in their own right, this exhibition is a remarkable opportunity to see their inventiveness and expertise turned to their own work.

Featuring works by: Zak Smoker, Daniel Roth, Steve Smolinski, Bob Dorsey, Zac Gorell, Matthew Pritchard, Lyanne Torres, Zach Smolko and Erin Duhigg
