3D Printing + Wearable Art

In this class, you will focus on the art and design of things we wear, and the exciting process of working from ideation to creating a polished, finished piece.

You’ll explore your own inspirations, the history of accessories and wearable art, new materials, and digital technologies. You will learn to design and make jewelry and other accessories in metal and plastics, and explore a wide range of processes, including computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing.

This class will include studio visits from local artists and designers, and students will utilize the Sears think[box], an innovative space on campus that allows for multiple printing technologies. At the end of the program, students will have a cohesive body of work that demonstrates their unique voice and creativity.
