Two full scholarships to CIA's summer Pre-College program made possible by Cleveland nonprofit Graffiti HeArt

Thanks to a Northeast Ohio nonprofit 501(c)3 organization Graffiti HeArt, CIA is offering two full scholarships to Pre-College, its summer residential program for high school students who are seriously considering attending a college of art and design.

Graffiti HeArt, a nonprofit committed to creating “opportunities to promote graffiti and street art and artists through permissioned and commissioned projects aimed to revitalize communities,” has announced it will fund the two full scholarships, worth $2,250 each. Awards will be based on a review of portfolios and a determination of both merit and need.

“Enabling two talented students to attend this high-caliber art education program aligns perfectly with our mission,” said Stamy Paul, president and founder of Graffiti HeArt.

An immersive program, Pre-College offers teens opportunities to earn college credits, sharpen artistic skills, experiment with new media, build their portfolios and live the life of an art student for two intense weeks. The 2015 session is scheduled for July 12-25.

To be considered for the scholarships, students must apply to Pre-College by May 15 and contact CIA’s office of Continuing Education at ce@cia.edu. A committee from Graffiti HeArt will review applications, portfolios, and evidence of financial need. Read more about Pre-College and access the application here.
