Join us on Tuesday, November 2 at 6pm for a free, public opening reception and curator’s talk at CIA’s Visual Arts and Technologies Coventry Center (1854 Coventry Road, upper level, next to McNulty’s).

Bethany Corriveau, a graduate student at Case Western Reserve University, will discuss the selections that went into curating The Writing on the Wall: Word as Art and Art as Word.

As part of the Emerging Artists project, where a CWRU art history graduate student curates a show of CIA student work, this show explores art that incorporates text. The exhibition is the latest in a collaborative effort between the Cleveland Foundation, Case Western Reserve University, and the Cleveland Institute of Art.

The Writing on the Wall will be on view at CIA’s VATe Coventry Center through November 8. It includes the work of CIA students Gabrielle Banzhaf, Nicole Cooke (work pictured), Eleni DiMaio, Rose Hileman, Melissa Horner, Sarah Pierce, and Adrienne Slane.

The exhibition was previously on view at the Cleveland Foundation from July 12 to October 15, 2010.
