Chris McConnell sculpts a masterpiece made from recycled materials.
Sculpture student Chris McConnell is getting quite the head start in his career. He was commissioned to create a permanent sculpture for the Burton Red Maple Inn in Burton, Ohio.
The end result: a 1900 pound horse constructed from recycled materials that McConnell found in a junkyard. All Some of the parts used were: propane tank, truck leaf springs, truck drive shaft swivel, three air tanks that would be used to fill a tire, re-bar, implements from tractors as well as many different sized pipes. The steel that was used for the horse was bent by hand, forming the contour and parallel lines.
