Prof's Photo Art Featured in Real Simple Mag

Artwork by Barry Underwood, head of CIA's department of film, video, and photographic arts, is featured in Real Simple magazine.

Cleveland Institute of Art Assistant Professor Barry Underwood had one of his luminous landscape photographs featured in the February 2011 issue of Real Simple magazine.

In the “What makes my life real simple” column (page 101), Underwood described his technique of creating light installations in settings of intense natural beauty. “Looking at these images later on reminds me of the camaraderie and the quiet conversations that my colleague and I shared in the wilderness,” he wrote.

Barry Underwood earned dual bachelor’s degrees in theater and photography from Indiana University Northwest and a master’s degree in photography from Cranbrook Academy of Art. His work has been presented in several international art fairs and included in corporate and private collections across North America and Europe.
