Most Fridays during the academic year, CIA serves up nutritious brain food in a series of lunchtime lectures in the college’s Peter B. Lewis Theater in its new George Gund Building at 11610 Euclid Avenue. Lunch On Fridays, or LOF, as the series is known, features noted artists, innovators, authors, CIA faculty members and other experts from across the country and around the world who present on topics ranging from the philosophical to the practical. All talks start at 12:15pm.

The fall 2015 semester lineup includes Cleveland Orchestra Director Franz Welser-Möst, coming on Sept. 25 for a live, on-stage interview about the interplay between music and visual arts; South African artist Stephen Hobbs, coming Oct. 2, when his work will be displayed on CIA’s Toby Lewis Media Mesh; American artist Chakaia Booker, who will be “in residence” for a week before her Oct. 30 LOF presentation and solo exhibition opening in CIA’s Reinberger Gallery; and CIA graduate and Disney animator Zac Petroc, coming on Nov. 6 to talk about his work as model supervisor for two Disney animated feature films, “Wreck it Ralph” and “Big Hero 6.”

Grant funding from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture helps support CIA’s public programming, including the LOF series, the Cinematheque year-round film series, CIA’s Reinberger Gallery exhibitions, and the college’s continuing education classes.

All LOF lectures are free and open to the public. Pizza and soft drinks are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Details about each lecture are in individual listings within the events section of CIA's website, cia.edu/events. The fall 2015 LOF schedule is:
