Gallery Director Checefsky Honored by Judson

Smart Living Awards celebrate individuals dedicated to the dynamic atmosphere of University Circle.

Bruce Checefsky, director of CIA’s Reinberger Galleries, has won a Judson Smart Living Award in the arts category in honor of his contributions to the cultural vitality of Cleveland’s University Circle. CIA President Grafton J. Nunes nominated Checefsky for the award.

“For 23 years, Bruce has added vibrancy to University Circle by presenting free, public exhibitions of art and design in our galleries, first as coordinator and for the last 19 years as director. In that time, he has curated more than 100 exhibitions that have delighted and intrigued tens of thousands of visitors,” Nunes said. He called the award “much-deserved recognition.”

Judson is a University Circle-based not-for-profit organization providing programs and living options for senior adults. The Smart Living Awards honor individuals of all ages.
