How do I renew books?

Most books may be renewed by stopping in the library with your CIA ID, or by creating a PIN account and renewing the items online. The number of renewals allowed varies by item.

Will I get a reminder when my books are almost due?

A notice will be sent to your CIA email address several days before your materials are due. Do not reply to this email.

What is an artists' book?

A book made by an artist as a work of art.

Can I check out artists' books?

The artists’ books collection can only be used in the library. It is helpful to make a request in advance if you would like to view any of the artists’ books.

Can I use artists' books for my class?

Yes. Faculty members should direct such requests to the Library Director with at least two weeks advance notice.

Can print periodicals be checked out?

No. The print periodicals are for in-library use only. However, many are available online. Ask for help.

Can I make an appointment to talk with a librarian about my research paper?

Absolutely!! We would love to help you with your research. To make an appointment, click here and choose a librarian and either a 30 or 60 minute meeting. You can also stop in the library, call or email any librarian.

Will the library staff put items on course reserve for use by the students in my class?

Yes. Please go the Library Services page, and then to Services for Faculty. You will find a copy of the reserve form and the current guidelines for course reserves.

My instructor said that there are items on course reserve in the library that I need to read. What does that mean?

What is OhioLINK?

The Gund Library is a member of this statewide association of college and university libraries. OhioLINK provides access to over 47 million books, research databases, an electronic journal center, a digital media center, and over 500,000 e-books. ... more

What is SearchOhio?

SearchOhio is a consortium of 19 of the largest public libraries in Ohio. Like OhioLINK, items can be requested online and sent to the Gund Library for pickup. For help requesting items using SearchOhio, contact a member of the library staff.

How do I find a journal article?

The best place to start is with EBSCO Discovery Service, a.k.a. Quick Search. Use the search box on the library's home page or visit https://research.ebsco.com/c/jfrvdv.

How do I find digital images?

A good place to start is the Find Images section of the Library home page. If you need help with any of the image databases, please contact a member of the staff.

Can I access the library's research databases from off campus?

How do I recommend a library purchase?

The library staff welcomes suggestions for materials to be included in our collection. Please first check our catalog to be certain that the item isn’t already part of our collection. There is an online form you can use to request items here.

Are there scanners in the library?

Yes. We have two flatbed scanners and one multi-function printer that can scan and print.
